How to Make Homemade Webkinz Clothes

No sewing is required for what is sure to be a fun baby bodysuit and hat. You can even add an easy-to-sew tutu to turn the body suit into a dance costume!

Instructions

    • 1

Measure your Webkinz toy from neck to tail. Measure this distance from the toe of the sock and cut straight across the sock. You will have a U-shaped bag.

    • 2

Lay your toy down on a table with its legs and tail spread out. Lay the sock over the back of the toy with the opening at the toy's neck. Mark the position of the legs and tail on the sock with a marker.

    • 3

Cut a 1/4-inch round hole for the tail. Cut 1/2-inch holes for the legs. Put the body suit on the toy and pull the legs and tail through the holes. The holes will stretch to fit.

    • 4

Cut two inches off the end of the other sock to make a hat. Stretch the hat over your toy's head. Turn up a cuff around the edge of the hat. If desired cut small holes for your Webkinz's ears.

Cut a 3 by 18-inch strip of nylon net. Thread a needle and sew down the center of the strip. Fold the strip in half along the row of stitches. Gather the net up to fit your toy's waist. Cut a strip of ribbon 15 inches long. Sew the ribbon along the folded, gathered edge of the net, leaving a five inch tail on each end.

Wrap the tutu around the toy's waist and tie the ribbons in a bow. Add another ribbon bow around the toy's neck.
