Things You'll Need
Instructions
When possible, take off any clothes or accessories from the stuffed animal. Remove loose dust and dirt with a lint roller or a vacuum cleaner with an attachment hose. Follow up by lightly brushing a damp terry cloth over the toy.
Fill a bowl with equal parts cool water and rubbing alcohol. Alternatively, you can use an upholstery cleaner for spot cleaning. Follow the instructions on the upholstery cleaner for mixing the solution.
Dip a sponge into the cleaning solution and wring it out well. Scrub any dirty spots with the sponge and cleaning solution, then wipe the entire surface of the stuffed animal. Rinse and wring out the sponge often while cleaning. Wet the sponge only enough to thoroughly dampen the plush part of the toy. Avoid using excessive moisture that will seep through to the stuffing.
Let the stuffed animal air-dry completely. Go over the stuffed animal with a vacuum cleaner hose attachment or lint roller to remove any residue from cleaning. Restore the fur or plush on the toy by brushing it with a soft-bristled hair brush.
