By pairing stuffed animals with an online virtual world where kids can play with them, Webkinz created a new profit model for plush-toy retail sales. CNN/Money reports that in the first 24 months Webkinz were available, from 2005 to 2007, more than $20 million were sold. Although many retailers and online sellers would love to participate in the success of the Webkinz line, you must work with a Ganz sales rep to become a Webkinz dealer.

Instructions

      Go to Ganz.com and click the "Contact" link. Then click the "Contact a Sales Rep" link. Fill out the online form with your name, store name and contact information. A Ganz sales representative will contact you to schedule a meeting at your store or warehouse.

      Meet with your Ganz sales rep and look over the Webkinz wholesale catalogs, minimum order requirements, monthly specials and pricing information. Decide which merchandise you would like to carry.

      Fill out a Webkinz dealer application. Include credit references, banking information, a copy of your resale license and tax identification number.

      Submit the application to your Ganz sales rep, who will contact you and let you know whether you have been accepted.

      Place your first order with your Ganz sales rep.

      Prepare your store for your first shipment of Webkinz merchandise, marketing materials and point-of-purchase displays. Ensure that they are in a visible location, as the tags with the secret codes are targets for shoplifters.
