Instructions

    • 1

Purchase an electronic recording button, such as the Record-It Button from Wal-Mart, and select your fabric. You can either go to a fabric store to do this or you can recycle materials such as outgrown clothes or unused blankets. A fun way to save baby clothes is to make them into stuffed toys your toddler will never grow out of. The fabric you pick does not have to be green; you can make your frog unique with any color or type of material.

    • 2

Spread a page of newspaper out and draw the outline of your frog. Make sure it is the correct size and proportions you want and then cut it out. Pin it to your fabric using straight pins. Keep in mind that you will need to cut two of these patterns. Once you have pinned the design to the fabric, cut it out leaving 1/4 inch of cloth between where you cut and the edge of the design. This extra fabric will be sewed. Reposition the design on the remaining fabric, pin and cut again.

    • 3

Sew the two pieces of fabric together inside out. Keep the line of sewing within 1/4 inch of the edge of the fabric so that the resulting stuffed animal will be the correct size. Leave a hole that is just long enough to fit a voice recorder inside. Once you have finished sewing, reach through the hole and pull the fabric through so that it is right side out and the stitches are hidden.

Make the voice recording on your electric recording button and put it in one of the frog's limbs. Stuff the frog. You can use cotton balls or you can recycle old materials. If you do use fabric, cut it into strips in order to fit it through the hole without tearing the stitches. You can make the frog as floppy or firm as you desire, but do not overstuff it and risk ripping the stitches. Sew the hole closed. These stitches will not be hidden, so consider putting the hole where the frog's mouth should be so that you can hide the stitches by making the frog's mouth with black yarn.

Get creative. Now you have the body of your frog stuffed animal, now it is time to embellish it. You can make the eyes and mouth by sewing buttons, sequins, yarn or any similar decoration. If you don't want to sew, you can draw them with a fabric marker. You can add ears to your frog by using the remaining cloth. If you do not have enough fabric remaining or just want the ears to stand out, you can use a different cloth. The most important thing to remember is to have fun making your stuffed frog uniquely your own.
