Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set the table with a floral tablecloth, napkins, a pretty teapot and brightly-colored teacups. (Use plastic cups for younger guests.) Include smaller place settings so the bears can also participate.
Invite a few friends and their teddy bear counterparts. Ask them to dress for the tea party by wearing pretty dresses, gloves and hats.
Prepare a pot of mild tea or offer water and a selection of tea bags so they can choose their own flavors. Offer condiments like milk, sugar and lemon wedges. Serve other beverages like milk, apple juice or punch for the girls who don't want tea.
Make finger foods such as triangular peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, sliced bread with cream cheese and thinly-sliced cucumbers, chunks of fruit and butter cookies.
Play games after you've enjoyed your tea and snacks. Try "Tape the Hat on the Teddy Bear" or musical chairs. Sing songs like "I'm a Little Teapot" and "Teddy Bears' Picnic" as part of the celebration for the bears.
Include craft time and allow guests to create t-shirts for their teddy bear. Buy miniature cotton shirts, fabric paints, brushes and sponge shapes at a crafts or hobby store. Give guests old work shirts to protect their nice dresses and cover a table with scrap paper before they begin.
Give guests party favor bags before they leave. Include tea bags, cookies and a play tea set so they can host a party with their teddy bear and stuffed animals at home.
