Things You'll Need
Instructions
Measure the front seat of the wagon to determine how big you wish the bolster to be. While you may want the bolster to fit snugly, you may also want to lift the bolster in and out of the wagon for other, bigger riders. Take these factors into consideration.
Cut a piece of plywood to match the size of your bolster, using an electric circular saw. Some home improvement stores will cut the piece for you.
Purchase a piece of upholstery foam at a craft store. These foam pieces generally range from ½ inch to 4 inches thick.
Choose a piece of fabric or vinyl big enough so that it completely covers the bolster, including the upholstery foam and a few extra inches to secure the fabric on the underside of the bolster.
Lay the plywood on the floor and liberally drizzle craft glue over the top.
Press the upholstery foam on top of the plywood. Place a heavy object on top to help the wood affix to the foam. Let the glue dry thoroughly.
Center the fabric or vinyl over the top of foam, then flip over the plywood.
Staple the fabric or vinyl into the plywood to secure it. Start with the upper-left corner, then move to the bottom-right corner, top-right corner and then the bottom-left corner, pulling the edges of the fabric or vinyl tightly as you go. Pleat the corner edges for a decorative effect or let them crinkle naturally.
Flip the bolster over and ensure that the fabric is tight and secure. If not, flip it back over and drive more staples into the plywood.
