How to Wire mSR Servo

The servos provide the motion to the swashplate so that your Blade mSR remote control helicopter can turn and roll. You can order a replacement servo for your helicopter and then wire it in place. The right and left servos are connected to the swashplate through the servo pushrods which must be carefully removed before wiring in a new servo. The servo connection is made to the 5-in-1 control unit via two solder points. Wiring the mSR servo requires soldering it to the 5-in-1 board. Note that the 5-in-1 replacement board comes with the servos pre-wired.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the battery from the 5-in-1 control board. Wait for the blue LED indicator light to do dark before continuing.

    • 2

Remove the two screws holding the broken servo to the 5-in-1 board. The servo is still connected by soldered wires. Gently pull the servo away from the board and note which wire connects to which point on the board.

    • 3

Touch the soldering iron to the connection for the red wire. When the solder melts, pull the wire away. Repeat to remove the blue wire from the control board.

    • 4

Touch the soldering iron to the bare metal end of the red wire until the wire is hot, then touch the hot wire to the connection point until the solder melts. Remove the iron and repeat for the blue wire. If there isn't enough solder left on the connection point, touch the iron to the connection point and touch the point with solder until a drop melts off. Remove the solder and the iron.

    • 5

Screw the servo to the 5-in-1 board. Re-attach the servo control arm to the swashplate and reconnect the battery to the control board.
