Instructions

    • 1

Decide on the make, model and style of go-kart you wish to assemble. Compare different manufacturers and determine which best suits your budget and abilities.

    • 2

Unpack your go-kart, be careful and put every piece in a specific place as you remove it from its packaging. Review the owner's manuals content list and ensure you have all the pieces you need to assemble your go-kart.

    • 3

Starting with the frame, gather all the plans, parts and instructions you will need for your specific frame construction. Frames will vary in shape, size and support; therefore, ensure your specific frame meets the safety requirement of how it will be used. Place weights on the frame to ensure it will support the weight of future passengers.

    • 4

Once the frame is securely assembled, attach your steering blocks. Steering assembly will vary from model to model. Decide whether the go-kart will have multiple drivers or just one. If only one person plans on driving, measure the steering rod and arms and set them to the driver's dimensions. If there will be multiple drivers, adjust the steering according to the manufacturer's instructions.

    • 5

Assemble the axles accordingly. This will be affected by the number of seats your go-kart will occupy. Once your frame, seating, steering and axles are complete, prepare your go-kart for the engine. Buy accessories compatible with your engine to avoid future complications. Always assemble the engine in the rear of your go-kart.

With assistance, slowly guide your engine into place. After you drop your engine, consult with a licensed electrician to ensure all the cable and wiring are appropriate assembled. Place the go-kart on blocks so it may be elevated off the ground. Start the engine. If the engines starts and runs properly, remove the go-kart from the blocks and attach the wheels.
