How to Make a Venom Night Ranger II Fly Better

The Venom Night Ranger II is a radio-controlled helicopter developed by Venom Air Corps. Despite their small size, the moving parts on these toy helicopters are surprisingly complex and the slightest changes to the placement of the battery or position of trim sliders can drastically alter how well the toy flies. If you are having issues with your Venom Night Ranger II, a few adjustments can make the rig fly better.

Instructions

    • 1

Grip the fly bar between your thumb and forefinger. This is the small bar that is part of the rotor assembly and is used to balance the helicopter.

    • 2

Adjust the battery with your other hand by moving the slider closer to the back or front of the helicopter. As you do this, the boom -- the back of the chopper -- will move up and down. The boom should be parallel to the floor.

    • 3

Turn on the Venom Night Ranger II's transmitter. If the main rotor starts rotating, adjust the trim on the lower left of the controller. If the tail rotor starts spinning, slide the trim bar on the upper left.

    • 4

Push the left control stick forward and watch the helicopter. If it does not lift off vertically without moving in any direction, move both of the sliders on the right side of the controller until the helicopter hovers without moving around. If the helicopter rotates slightly while hovering, adjust the trim slider on the lower left of the controller.

    • 5

Fly the helicopter in any direction. If it makes turns too slowly or too quickly, use a flat-head screwdriver to adjust the trim on the front of the helicopter's receiver to modify the tail gyro's sensitivity.
