How Can I Tell the Difference Between Hot Wheels Mystery Car Packages?

Hot Wheels introduced its "Mystery Car" collection in 2005 to much fanfare. The solid black packaging is intended to keep the contents a secret, yet Hot Wheels hasn't evaded the pitfall of packaging codes. The Mystery Car packages are distinguishable by a small indication on the back, easily read without purchasing. Figuring out the contents of each mystery package will let you complete your collection without buying repeats and wasting any hard-earned money.

Instructions

    • 1

Print out the available Hot Wheels Mystery Car package list to bring to the store with you.

    • 2

Locate the package number. Turn the package upside down (with the car facing away from you) and look for a small combination of letters and numbers (for example: M6943). There will be only one package number on the back, so just scan up and down. Generally the code is near the large phrase "Mystery Cars" on the back.

    • 3

Match the number to the list you printed with you.
