How to Make Putty Rubber

Making putty rubber, also known as Silly Putty, at home is a fun and inexpensive project for elementary school-aged children. Many children enjoy making the putty, then getting to play with it. Using only household ingredients, you can make putty rubber at home in less than ten minutes. When stored properly, the putty will not dry out for up to to six weeks. Food coloring can be added to the glue before mixing with the starch if a certain color putty is desired.
