How to Make an Electric Pocket Rocket Go Faster

Radio-controlled (RC) airplanes offer a great way to experience high-flying freedom without a pilot's license. While many of the airplane kits offer upgrade and modification options for improved performance, some of the more basic models like the Pocket Rocket do not; nevertheless, you can learn how to increase your Pocket Rocket's speed, which will enable you to perform more difficult aerial stunts and maneuvers.

  • Flathead screwdriver
  • 4 1300-mAh AAA batteries

Instructions

      Remove the top portion of the tail to access the inner electronics of the aircraft. Locate the 600-mAh AAA rechargeable NiMH batteries, then pop them out using a flathead screwdriver.

      Insert the four 1300-mAh AAA batteries by pushing the flat (-) end of the battery against the spring, then pressing the button (+) end down into the battery holder. Close the compartment by reattaching the access panel, sealing off the interior of the aircraft and readying it for flight.

      Plug the plane into the charger that came with your aircraft. Allow the charger the necessary time to fully charge the batteries, then fly the aircraft as you would normally. Enjoy the increased top speed and improved performance, achieved with by doubling the power provided to the motor.
