The Procedure to Replace a Battery in a Razor Quad

Razor's Dirt Quad electric ride-on is designed to provide an off-road ATV experience to riders ages 8 and up. This toy vehicle comes complete with a high-torque motor, large tires and a tuned rear suspension. When the time comes to replace its rechargeable battery, you can expect a straightforward but lengthy endeavor.
  1. Tools

    • To change out the battery on the Razor Quad, you're going to need a Phillips screwdriver, No. 10 open wrench and an array of Allen wrenches, ranging from 3 mm to 6 mm. You'll also want a place where to store all of the bolts and hardware for when you reassemble the Quad.

    Removing Obstructing Parts

    • Changing the battery on the Razor Quad will require you to remove several parts from the body. With the Razor standing on its front end, you'll have to remove both the bottom battery cover and the support bracket, before you set the Razor back on its tires. You'll then have to remove the handlebars and footrest platforms.

    Exposing the Battery Case

    • From here, you'll have to move the plastic bodywork. All you have to do is remove the bolts under the rear fender and lift the body up. Then you can work it around the steering tube to expose the battery case.

    Removing and Replacing the Battery

    • You'll have to remove the screws from the right side of the battery case to open it. Afterward, it can be pulled open and you can disconnect the old battery. Simply connect the new battery, put it in place and reassemble the Razor.

    Important Tips

    • Always keep your instructions for your Razor Quad handy in case you need them during disassembly or reassembly. Also, make sure you charge your Razor's batteries for about 18 hours before you use the Razor again.
