Things You'll Need
Instructions
Apply throttle with the left joystick. Push the joystick up to increase the throttle, generating enough lift to raise the aircraft off the ground. Continue to apply throttle until the helicopter is about a foot off the ground. Keeping it at low altitudes will limit any damage resulting from pilot error.
Use the right joystick to point the nose of the aircraft in the direction you want it to travel. Apply minor adjustments for smooth navigational control over the helicopter. Moving the joystick left will turn the aircraft counterclockwise, whereas moving it right will turn it clockwise.
Apply the trim adjustment located beneath the right joystick to correct any uncontrolled spinning. If your vehicle spins clockwise, correct this by sliding the trim to the left. Make incremental adjustments until the aircraft flies a straight path when the steering joystick is centered.
Utilize a combination of throttle and steering to direct the helicopter in any direction. Raise the throttle to increase altitude or reduce throttle to decrease altitude. Practice hovering the aircraft to understand how the helicopter behaves in the air. A hover occurs when just enough thrust is applied to make the aircraft hang in the air, maintaining a stationary altitude for a given amount of time.
Land the vehicle by gradually decreasing the throttle. As the aircraft descends, increase the throttle slightly to make a nice, soft landing. Raising the throttle, as the helicopter approaches the ground, will reduce the magnitude of the impact, preventing the helicopter from bouncing and toppling onto its side.
