Things You'll Need
Instructions
Disconnect the front and rear sections of the outer body shell. Loosen the screws of the inner shaft retaining collar, then pull the main gear off the inner shaft.
Disconnect the stabilizer fly bar hub/holder, upper main blades, upper rotor head, stabilizer fly bar, and the inner shaft; as one complete assembly, by sliding it vertically off the rotor shaft.
Pull the bearing holder and the bearing, off the top of the outer shaft. Pop the two lower rotor head swash linkages off the control balls that are connected to the upper swashplate and lower main blades.
Loosen the four screws on the lower rotor head to disconnect the main rotor blades from the outer shaft as one piece.
Install the lower portion of the replacement rotor head, by sliding it down onto the outer shaft with the setscrew holes oriented toward the top. Install the upper portion of the rotor head the same way.
Match the upper-section holes with the holes inside the outer shaft, then connect them using a 1.5mm hex wrench to tighten the two setscrews. Screw the other two setscrews into the lower section: Then align the slots of the upper, with the setscrews of the lower section, and slide the lower section up -- until it contacts the upper section.
Orient the 2 lower main rotor blade mounting pins, so they are perpendicular to the 5 anti-rotation guide pins, by adjusting the lower sections position. Once everything is matched up, tighten the setscrews.
Slide the bearing holder and bearing onto the top of the outer shaft; then install the lower-rotor head/swash linkages by clipping them onto the control balls. Connect the lower main blades and the upper swashplate by tightening the four screws.
Connect the upper main blades and the stabilizer fly bar to the upper rotor head, then tighten the screws to secure the inner shaft retaining collar. Connect the front and rear body sections onto the helicopter's frame.
