How to Adjust Tail Rotors on a Honey Bee CP

Many radio-controlled (RC) vehicle enthusiasts consider the helicopter to be the most difficult RC aircraft to navigate successfully. If the aircraft isn't properly adjusted for flight, it can be difficult to control, which will also keep you from improving your skills as a pilot. In learning how to correct a malfunctioning tail rotor, you will improve your aircraft's aerial stability and allow you to master flying the Honey Bee CP.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the clips out of the body mounting rods, then remove the body shell from the helicopter's frame by pulling it off.

    • 2

Find the gyro, located directly behind the main rotors, and familiarize yourself with the gyro gain adjustment buttons on the front face of the gyro. There are two buttons: increase (+) and decrease (-).

    • 3

Press the decrease button on the gyro to correct slight wobbling of the aircraft's tail; click the increase button to reduce drastic wobbling. Since the helicopter's main and tail rotors function in proportion to one another, adjusting the gyro gain will help the helicopter fly straight by altering the proportion at which they rotate.
