Open the toy so you can access the circuitry and the battery in the toy. Place the negative lead of an LED voltage indicator to the negative terminal on the battery. Place the positive lead of the LED voltage indicator on any of the metal pins located on the circuit board. On a blank sheet of paper, write if the LED voltage checker light is on or off from that point.
Repeat the previous step for all metal solder joints and metal pins located on the circuit board. On the paper, draw a table showing one column for the joints and pin names, and a second column showing if the LED indicator was on or off when that joint or pin was touched.
Make another table for each control button located on the remote controller. Hold down one button on the remote control and use the LED voltage indicator to check the metal pins and joints to see if the LED light is off or on. Write down each time you check a metal pin or joint. Jot down whether the LED light was off or on. Continue for each button on the remote controller.
Review the table and the metal pins and joints that turn on the LED voltage indicator when the remote control buttons are pushed in.
