How to Mount a Tuned Pipe on an RC Plane

Learning how to mount a tuned pipe to your aircraft will not only upgrade your plane's acceleration and top speed, but it will drastically improve its overall aerial maneuverability.

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Double-sided tape
  • Universal tuned pipe mount

Instructions

    • 1

      Loosen the two mounting screws that secure the exhaust pipe to the engine. Pull off the exhaust pipe to separate it from the chassis.

      Insert the tuned pipe into the mounting brace that came with your engine. Slide the bracket into the exhaust port on the engine, then tighten the mounting screws to fasten the exhaust.

      Insert the 1/4-inch bolt down through the standoff and secure it to the chassis. Tighten the No. 8 screw to fasten the plastic bracket to the top of the standoff.

      Press a piece of double-sided tape against the plastic mounting bracket. Peel off the cover to reveal the other side of the tape, then position the tuned pipe against it. Apply pressure to establish a firm connection between the side of the exhaust and the plastic brace.
