Riding Coupe Cars for Kids

Most children love being able to pretend they are adults. That is one reason why riding toy cars is so much fun. Several toy manufacturers make cars that kids can ride on and steer. Some are powered by batteries while others use pedals or are pushed by children's feet. They come in a variety of styles, sizes and prices.
  1. Little Tikes

    • Little Tikes makes the classic red and yellow "Cozy Coupe" that a child sits in and pushes with his feet while he steers with a wheel. Standard price as of February 2011 was $49.99. Other similar models of toy cars manufactured by Little Tikes include the Classic Pickup Truck, the Spray &Rescue Fire Truck and the Princess Cozy Coupe.

    Power Wheels

    • Fisher Price makes Power Wheels cars, small battery-powered vehicles that come in a variety of models and sizes. Popular models are Jeeps and trucks. They are designed for children as young as 1 year old and as old as about 6, and seat one or two riders. Prices range from about $75 for small and simple models to about $400 for large all-terrain models.

    Radio Flyer

    • Radio Flyer is known for making the famous little red wagon, but this company also makes several ride-on toys. Models that kids can propel with their feet include scooters, cars, trikes, wagons and even small rockets. Prices range from about $40 to $100.

    Other ride-on cars

    • Two other companies that manufacture acclaimed toy cars are InStep and Kid Trax. InStep makes a fire engine that is propelled by pedals and is made complete by a bell and ladders. As of February 2011, you could purchase it for around $45. Kid Trax makes a toy electric Mercedes that looks like a classic 1960s Mercedes 300SL and goes up to five miles per hour. As of February 2011 you could buy it for just under $400.
