How to Remove a Traxxas 2.5 Carburetor

A radio-controlled car's engine generates all the strength and power that the vehicle needs to drive. Instructions

    • 1

      Remove the exhaust pipe and header from the engine by loosening the two screws. Remove the three screws securing the EZ-Start assembly to the gear housing.

      Remove the 5.0 E-clip from the crankshaft and slide the clutch bell of the crankshaft. Remove the flywheel nut from the crankshaft using an 8 mm socket, then disconnect the flywheel from the crankshaft. Use a flathead screwdriver to divide the cone washer from the crankshaft, then slide the cone washer off the crankshaft.

      Remove the glow plug from the cooling head, then remove the four screws from the back plate of the engine. Pull of the back plate from the crankcase. Remove the five head bolts, then disconnect the cooling head from the engine case.

      Push the sleeve up and out of the crankcase using a wooden utensil, then disconnect the connecting rod off the crank pin. Remove the rod and piston from the top of the crankcase.

      Push the pilot shaft out the back-end of the crankcase, then loosen the 3.0 NL located below the carburetor. Slide the carburetor up and out of the crankcase.
