Things You'll Need
Instructions
Install the training gear following the included instructions. Turn on your helicopter and set it up on a wide-open, flat surface with minimal obstruction. Try to find a concrete parking lot, or even a well-manicured baseball field. Use the bumpers on the training gear; they are intended to minimize the effects of hitting the ground while practicing.
Apply enough throttle for the helicopter to get light on its skids. Let the helicopter lift off only a few inches form the ground, then reduce the throttle and let the aircraft touch down softly. Bounce the vehicle up and down to get acclimated to its behavior in the air.
Practice hovering the aircraft about a foot off the ground. Familiarize yourself with the strength of the throttle, then slowly increase your altitude to around three feet. Rotate the helicopter and follow a figure-8 pattern, all the while paying close attention to the feeling of the aircraft. Make minor, gradual adjustments and always stay close to the ground when practicing any new maneuvers.
