Battery Charging
Before assembling the Power Wheels vehicle, you need to charge the battery for the first time. On some models, the battery may already be inside the base of the vehicle. Remove the battery and plug it into the wall charger included with your Power Wheels vehicle. Charge the battery for at least 18 hours. Never charge the battery for more than 30 hours. Charging it overnight may work, but only if you remember to unplug it in the morning.
Steering Column
Without the steering column attached correctly, your Power Wheels car won't be able to turn. The mechanism uses a bent rod attached to what appears to be an axle rod, but merely connects the two rotating semi-axles to the wheels. Consult your manual directions to find out if the bent rod needs to be pointing away from the nose of the car or toward it. If you do not connect the rod correctly, the steering wheel may not sit right, or the vehicle may not steer properly.
Seats
The seats on your vehicle are designed to be adjustable so young drivers won't outgrow the car too quickly. Shorter drivers will want the seats closer to the dashboard, while taller drivers will likely want the seats further back. The seat clicks into two pairs of grooves on either side. Click the seat into place and test that it's attached before putting passengers in it. The seats are a single unit, so the passenger in the car may not be comfortable if he's much taller than a shorter driver.
Decals
Without the added decals, the car will still run but will lose some of the authentic feel of the real vehicle. Wipe down the areas where the decals will go with a damp paper towel before actually applying them. Keep the car out of the weather and direct sunlight to keep the stickers looking bright and shiny.
