How to Replace a Peg Perego Battery

Thanks to Peg Perego, many children are able to ride around like grownups on their very own miniature versions of popular vehicles, such as John Deere tractors or Ducati Monster motorcycles. But when the battery dies, what do you do? Buying a whole new battery system from Peg Perego is an option -- but an expensive one. Instead, you can replace the battery under the protective cover. Although opening the cover may look challenging, this is only a testament to the safety precautions that have been taken for your child.

Instructions

Disconnect the battery. Remove one of the side straps from the battery. Place the screwdriver behind one of the straps, at the point where the strap is fixed to the cover, and use the screwdriver as leverage to snap the strap away from the battery. The point where the strap connects to the cover looks like a rivet.

Remove the wire tabs connected to the battery terminals. Remove the old Peg Perego battery and replace with a new battery. Reconnect the wire tabs to the new battery.

    • 3

Reconnect the strap to the cover. You will have to force the part of the strap that looks like a rivet back into the connection point on the cover. Reconnect the battery, and the riding toy is ready to use.
