How to Customize Batmobile Hot Wheels

The Batmobile is Batman's iconic transportation. First appearing in Detective Comics in 1939, the Batmobile has changed throughout the years, often times maintaining its iconic black color. However, Hot Wheels collectors may find the color or style of the car plain, prompting them to customize their Hot Wheels versions of the Batmobile. Customization options are limitless. Users are only limited by their creativity and the money they are willing to spend on the customization.

Instructions

  1. Add a New Paint Job

    • 1

Remove the original Batmobile paint, using sandpaper. Use circular motions to remove the paint. When finished, check the car to ensure no rough edges are present.

    • 2

Apply masking tap around the windows and wheels. Use an X-acto knife to cut the masking tape to fit around the car's body.

    • 3

Apply the primer to the Batmobile's body. Using a paint brush, paint the body of the car. Allow the car to dry for 20 to 30 minutes.

    • 4

Insert acrylic paint into a paint spray bottle. Using short, horizontal or vertical bursts, spray the car with a new color. Select a color scheme from one of the many different Batmobile or your own. Using Batman stencils, spray a bat symbol or Batman logo onto the car.

    • 5

Allow the paint to dry before removing masking tape.

    Accessorize the Car

    • 6

Add Batman stickers onto the hood, side or rear of the car. Since Batman stickers are readily accessible, add stickers onto the car to symbolize the Batmobile. Place the stickers in a symmetrical fashion to maintain a professional look.

    • 7

Use colored glue to add decals. Keep the same matching color to add colored decals to the car. Add racing stripes, batarangs, and bats onto the car using colored glue or paint.

    • 8

Add words and quotes from previous Batman series, using stencils and colored glue.
