Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check the size of the bolt on the rear wheel of your child's tricycle. Depending on the make or model of your trike, you might need a different-size socket wrench. If you can't determine the size of the bolt by looking at it, check the manufacturer's manual for the bolt and corresponding socket wrench size.
Remove the bolt from the center of the rear wheel on your child's tricycle using a socket wrench. Hold the rear fastener of the bolt on the inside of the wheel with pliers. Place the wrench around the center bolt, and turn it counter-clockwise until the bolt unscrews from the rear fastener. Place the bolt and rear fastener aside in a safe location for later use.
Position the replacement trike wheel with the hole at its center aligned with the bolt hole on the frame of your tricycle.
Insert the bolt in the bolt hole in the frame, and push it through the replacement wheel. The head of the bolt will face the frame of the trike. With your hand, screw the fastener onto the back of the bolt.
Hold the fastener in place with the pliers, and tighten the bolt into place by turning it clockwise with the wrench.
