Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open the transmission compartment using the screwdriver. Remove the cover and access the pinion gear, which is connected to the metal shaft of the motor. Unscrew the pinion gear fastener with the Allen wrench, then slide it from the motor.
Unscrew the two motor mounting screws, then remove the motor from the vehicle's chassis. Remove your brushed ESC by peeling it from the chassis, then scrape any excess double-sided tape with a hobby knife.
Stick a section of double-sided tape on the chassis, then press the brushless ESC firmly onto it. Solder the red wire from the ESC onto the positive terminal of the brushless motor, then solder the black wire to the negative terminal. Plug the receiver into the first channel of the ESC, then plug the steering servo into the second channel.
Insert the brushless motor into the compartment, then barely tighten the two motor-mounting screws to prevent the motor from falling out. Slide on the pinion gear and tighten it with the Allen wrench. Place a sheet of paper between the pinion gear and the spur gear, then mesh them together. Leave the paper in while you firmly tighten the motor mounting screws. Turn the gear and remove the paper. Close up the transmission compartment and fasten it with screws.
