How to Make a Glider Paper Towel Roll

You might already be recycling the paper towel tubes that are at the core of your paper towels but if you aren't and you have kids, you can use those rolls to create a fun craft. Kids can create a glider from paper towel tubes in more than one way. The easiest way involves folding the paper towel tube into a glider shape. The glider can be decorated with stickers or markers to personalize them.

Instructions

    • 1

Flatten the paper towel tube. Cut off about 3 inches of the tube. Crease one fold firmly so it is crisp.

    • 2

Cut the paper towel tube lengthwise along the crease. Crease the other fold so it is crisp and running directly down the center of the roll.

    • 3

Turn the roll over so the crease is facing down. Fold back the top corners of the tube so that the point of each corner is against the center line.

    • 4

Turn over the tube. Fold back each folded corner again so they are against the middle line.

    • 5

Turn the tube over again and hold it underneath by the folds. Apply any stickers to the wings or draw designs on the glider with markers.

    • 6

Throw the glider gently into the air.
