Instructions
Remove the canopy and body of the car. Remove any parts covering the motor until you reach the motor. Set these pieces aside, and keep your screws separate and together so you do not lose any.
Examine the motor to see if the number of turns is written somewhere on the armature. Depending on the brand and style of motor, it may appear as a number labeled like "19T," or similar. Move on to the next steps if a number is not found.
Pry the housing off the motor, gently. Make sure you don't bend the motor housing or damage the clips which hold it over the armature.
Locate the armature, which is coiled around with copper wire, and count the number of coils. Count two or three times and average the results for the most accurate number. To average, add the three results together, then divide the number by three. Averaging lets you compensate for any turns you may have accidentally skipped.
Reassemble your vehicle.
