Instructions
Check the battery stock number and model. If the label reads: "ElectriFly 950 mAh 11.1V," Heli-Max issued a battery recall. The model was the Axe CP-L helicopter and the battery stock number was GPMP0401.
Return the LiPo battery pack to the manufacturer; do not attempt to use or charge recalled batteries. Visit the company website and fill in the "Battery Return Request Form." Heli-Max will send you a postage-paid return envelope. When you return the recalled batteries, Heli-Max sends a replacement battery pack along with a LiPo protection module.
Place the batteries in an advanced battery analyzer such as the Cadex C7200. The analyzer will test voltage, battery capacity and cell damage. For the Cadex, use the "Quick Test" feature to give you a reading of good, low or poor. Only recharge good and low batteries; throw poor cells away because they may have internal damage.
Set the battery analyzer to "Boost" to restore your batteries. If a battery was discharged below 2.5 volts, it may not accept a charge from your Heli-Max charger. Using the boost feature applies a low current to the battery while raising the cell voltage to a chargeable level.
Charge your batteries with the Heli-Max charger in a fireproof location. Disconnect the batteries from the charger if you witness swelling or puffing of the battery cells. Throw any damaged batteries away.
