Instructions
Replace your R/C car´s battery pack. Most R/C cars originally come installed with a NiCad battery, which provides a low amount of power to your R/C car. This battery limits acceleration and can even cause you to lose power during a race. LiPo batteries provide the highest amount of power and will vastly improve your R/C car´s acceleration, in addition to allowing you to charge and use the battery various times per day.
Change the R/C car´s tires according to the terrain that you will be racing on. The terrain can greatly affect you R/C car´s performance and failure to properly adjust can make the difference between winning and losing a race. R/C cars are factory-installed with ready-to-run tires, which perform reasonably well on all terrains. Specialized tires, however, can be obtained for tracks as well as off-road situations.
Locate your R/C car´s governor. The governor is a device that caps the top speed that your R/C car can get to. The governor is always located near the R/C car´s motor (refer to your owner´s manual for the exact location) and can be removed with a screwdriver. Unscrew the governor from the frame of the R/C car when it is not running. Your car will no longer have any speed limitations, giving you a significant edge in races.
