How to Fill a 3 Line RC Fuel System

You can use a three-line fuel system in an RC plane or car when the traditional two line placement is inaccessible for filling the fuel tank within the vehicle. The third line, pushed into the tank, serves as a fuel intake line only, which you can feed through the vehicle to a more accessible location. Because the third line is for fuel only, filling the tank in a three-line system is simple. The process of filling up is much quicker than a two-line system, where you must disconnect one of the lines from the carburetor and use it to fuel the tank before reattachment.

Things You'll Need

Nitro fuel
Fuel pump

Instructions

  Remove the cap, known as the "Fuel Dot," that's plugging the fill line for the fuel tank.

  Fill your pump with the nitro fuel from your fuel can. Pour only the amount of fuel into the pump that you intend to place into the RC plane.

  Place the nozzle of your pump into the open end of the fill line for the fuel tank. Pump the fuel through the fill line into the tank. Watch the tank as you fill it with fuel until you reach the fill line marked onto the tank.

  Remove the nozzle of your pump from the fill line and then replace the Fuel Dot, plugging the line securely. Pump any excess fuel from your pump back into your fuel can for storage.
