Things You'll Need
Instructions
Add weight if the wheels slip. Add it to the cargo bed if there is one. Weight will push down on the wheels and afford a better grip. The Ford F-150 version of Power Wheels can carry up to 25 pounds in the cargo area. Access the cargo area by lifting and lowering the tailgate. Add the weight, like a sandbag, and then close the tailgate by lifting it and lowering it back into place. Other vehicles may have different weight limits. Total weight for the Ford F-150 is 130 pounds. Check the owner's manual for your Power Wheels and don't exceed the total weight limit.
Add a second child if your vehicle doesn't have a cargo area but carries two people. If the Power Wheels doesn't have a cargo area and doesn't carry two people, avoid using it in slippery conditions.
Check for proper operation if you continue to have traction issues. One rear wheel spinning when you have both off the ground and are operating in slow speed is not necessarily a problem. Check by raising both wheels and pressing the foot pedal. If one rear wheel spins, press your hand on it to slow it down. If the other wheel begins to spin, the vehicle is operating correctly and traction will be optimum. If it doesn't, traction can be improved by having the Power Wheels serviced.
