The Easiest Remote Control Planes to Fly

Hobbyists new to the world of radio controlled (RC) model plane flying are widely advised to learn with an electric "ready-to-fly" (RTF) model. Not only are such models easiest to fly, thanks to a combination of simple controls and the high wings that give them slow and stable flight characteristics, but they're also usually sturdy and easy to repair in the case of any accidents.

HobbyZone Super Cub LP
- One of the most popular RC airplanes among beginners, the HobbyZone Super Club LP is classed as a high-wing plane. This means that the wings are placed on top of the fuselage, giving the plane extra stability and making it more forgiving up in the air, and therefore an ideal trainer. The plane is ready to fly straight out of the box, and everything you need to get off the ground is included. Its Z-foam construction makes it both easy to control and durable, though at the same time, the RC airplane comes equipped with a powerful motor suited to steep climbs and greater speed than many beginner models. The Super Club is equipped with HobbyZone's Anti-Crash Technology (ACT), which makes use of sensors fitted to the RC aircraft to assess flight patterns and correct any errors. This can be deactivated once you've mastered the basics, and even switched back on again mid-flight should you lose control.
Hobbico NexStar Mini EP
- A smaller version of the popular NexStar Select 46 gas trainer, the Mini EP offers the chance to come to grips with an electric RC aircraft with relative ease.
  
  Again, its high wing gives it a good mid-air balance, making for smooth and easy-to-control flight; and after a turn, the plane will naturally want to level itself out due to its "bottom-heavy" design.The four-channel control and its 44-inch wingspan makes it portable and perfect for flying in smaller parks or fields, while additional features such as Hobbico's SpinControl and SpeedBrakes systems provide lift during stalls and help to limit speed, making the plane easier to manage. As with most RTF planes, the NexStar Mini EP can be out of the box and up in the air in as little as 20 minutes.
E-Flite Apprentice 15e
- One of the larger RC aircraft available, the E-Flite Apprentice 15e is designed and built with the novice flyer in mind. The Apprentice's high-mounted flat-bottom wing makes for gentle flight characteristics, while the full range Dx5e Spektrum radio means it is easy to handle from the ground. Also making it ideal for beginners is the fact that the Apprentice is made from durable yet lightweight Z-foam, and the plane also boasts a tricycle landing gear capable of withstanding heavy impacts on a range of surfaces. This E-Flite model is suitable for novices as well as more advanced flyers, and is ideal for progressing on to performing simple aeronautical tricks.
