How to Adjust a Battery-Operated Car to Get It to Go Faster

Imagine the look on your child´s face when he sees his battery-operated car zooming around the neighborhood at top speed. Battery-operated toy cars are enjoyed by children of all ages and, of course, getting one to go faster would brighten any child`s day. With a few simple steps, you can adjust a battery-operated car in order to maximize its speed potential. Make your child´s day -- get her toy car to go as fast as possible!

Instructions

    • 1

Change the batteries. Weak batteries will slow the performance of the toy car. Oftentimes the battery that is included with the purchase of the toy car is low grade. Use a high-quality, name brand battery to ensure that the car is operating at full potential.

    • 2

Remove the governor. A governor is an automatic control used to limit speed. Removing it will allow the car to operate without any speed limitation.

    • 3

Remove all excess parts and pieces. Toy cars are often decorated with extra, unnecessary pieces like rear view mirrors, bumpers and windshield wipers. Removing these pieces will make the car lighter and enable it to go faster. Replacing the tires with ones that are smaller and thinner is another way to make the car weigh less.
