Getting airborne with RC helicopters
Turn on the aircraft, then place it on a level surface in a wide-open area. Ensure there is enough room for you to safely maneuver your aircraft. Remove obstructions to prevent accidents and to avoid damage to the vehicle.
Adjust the trim. Raise the throttle joystick enough to lift the vehicle one or two feet above the ground. Click the slider located above the steering joystick to manipulate the trim. Move the slider in the opposite direction of the aircraft rotation to offset its motion. For example, if your aircraft spins clockwise, click the trim adjuster to the left until it ceases to rotate. Once the trim is set, let the helicopter settle to the ground by easing the throttle.
Fly the helicopter. Increase throttle input until the helicopter lifts off the ground. Ease up on the thrust to control the climb of your helicopter. Increasing throttle increases altitude, while decreasing throttle brings the aircraft closer to the ground. Use the steering joystick to navigate the aircraft.
Practice the combination of smooth throttle and steering adjustments to establish flawless flight patterns. Make gradual adjustments to prevent an accident.
