How to Reset the Model Memory in an RC Transmitter

Linking your remote-controlled vehicle to a particular transmitter requires a process known as binding. During the binding process, the transmitter recognizes the RC receiver in the vehicle using the unique IDs of each, so that each time you start the vehicle and transmitter the transmitter controls only that specific vehicle. Advanced digital transmitters are capable of binding with multiple vehicles, however, saving those specific binding instructions in areas known as model memory slots. The slots are limited, though, so eventually adding a new vehicle will require you to reset a full memory slot, zeroing out the settings so that a new binding can occur.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your remote control radio transmitter.

    • 2

Enter the menu for your transmitter. Menu controls will differ according to transmitter model. Check the model instructions for menu access methods.

    • 3

Select the model memory slot that you wish to reset by navigating to that slot using the menu. The readout on your transmitter should show you the current model memory settings, including model type and slot name.

    • 4

Scroll down the menu options until you highlight "Model Reset." Select this option to clear the current settings for that model memory slot. Confirm your reset selection. Exit the menu to return to the Model Memory Slot menu.

    • 5

Select the memory slot for model settings. The slot should show no model bound to the memory slot if the reset was successful. With the memory slot emptied, you can enter new settings, binding a new aircraft to the memory slot controls.
