Remote Control Cars That Drive on Walls & Ceilings

If you're bored with traditional remote controlled cars that can drive only on the floor or in the street, some newer toys that climb walls and ceilings may renew your interest. The Majic Wheels Remote Controlled Car, the RC Aero Laser Spider and the Air Hog Zero Gravity R/C can drive on your floor as well as walls and ceilings. Each of these cars uses different technology to allow this gravity-defying feat.
  1. Majic Wheels Remote Controlled Car

    • The Majic Wheels Remote Controlled Car uses adhesive wheels to climb up walls and ceilings. Though the adhesive, available only from Majic Wheels, must be replaced when it gets dirty, the car has the advantage of being quieter than other toys with similar abilities, as it doesn't use a loud vacuum. You can also purchase the wheels alone and install them onto your own remote-controlled car to give it the same wall-climbing powers.

    RC Aero Laser Spider

    • Takara Tomy's RC Aero Laser Spider has a light sensor and comes with a "laser" gun as its remote control. When you use the gun to shoot red light beams, the sensors catch the light and follow them wherever you project them, allowing them to crawl along walls and ceilings. These cars were introduced in November 2009, and are available for about $65.

    Air Hog Zero Gravity R/C

    • The Air Hog Zero Gravity R/C car is a small 5-inch car that comes in a variety of colors and styles. A tiny fan installed in the roof of the car creates a vacuum that gives it the suction necessary to climb walls and ceilings. This car has a limited playing time -- about 10 minutes after a 30-minute charge -- and costs about $50.
