How to Clean an RC Nitro Car

RC cars have been popular since the 1960s, starting as scale models powered by model airplane engines. Their popularity was instantaneous when they were introduced, and they are still raced and collected today. The Nitro brand RC runs well both on and off road. After a day of RC racing, a good cleaning allows it to race anew.

Things You'll Need

  • Newspaper
  • Paper towel
  • Compressed air
  • Phillips head screw driver
  • Filler bottle

Instructions

      Spread some newspaper on a work table.

      Clean any gas spots from the Nitro RC.

    • 3

      Blow off any grass, leaves or dirt with compressed air. Tighten loose screws.

      Remove any excess fuel with the filler bottle. Start the car to circulate the fuel.

      Remove the plug and the gasket. Wipe both with the paper towel.

    • 6

      Spray one squirt of oil on the bearings. Remove the air filter. Run the car for a short while. Reinsert the gasket and plug. Reassemble the rest of the RC Nitro.
