How to Change the Battery in a Power Wheels Corvette

Power Wheels ride-on vehicles come in a wide range of styles and sizes. The Corvette comes in pink or red and even sports a working radio. The Power Wheels Corvette was previously made by Mattel before the company sold out to Fisher Price. The Corvette requires a 12-volt battery, which allows the car to drive at low speeds. As the battery life reaches the end, the battery will operate for shorter periods of time between charges.

Instructions

    • 1

Charge your new 12-volt battery prior to use per the manufacturer's instructions.

    • 2

Insert a coin or the assembly tool into a slot located on the side of the Corvette hood. Apply pressure on the coin or tool to raise it slightly until you can get your fingers under the hood, allowing you to raise the hood.

    • 3

Locate the retainer bar that is on top of the battery. Lift and pull the bar towards you. Unplug the battery by gently pulling the motor harness connector from the battery.

    • 4

Lift the old battery out of the compartment, and lower the new battery into the compartment.

    • 5

Insert the motor harness connector into the battery. Grab the battery retainer bar, lift it up and slide it back over the battery. Close the hood. Take the Corvette for a drive to make sure the battery is connected properly.
