Air Hogs Tips

As of 2010, the Air Hogs line of popular remote-controlled vehicles includes helicopters, airplanes, cars and motorcycles. Each of the various vehicles has different features and is capable of its own specialized type of movement. If you have an Air Hogs RC vehicle, then you may want to learn about some tips to help you have even more fun with your aircraft or land vehicle.
  1. Airplane Tips

    • Air Hogs airplanes are meant to be easy to fly and control in the air. Although the planes are typically flyable out of the box, you can use several techniques to improve your flight experience. Throw your airplane upward into the air, in the same direction the wind is blowing, from an elevated platform to ensure a good take-off. If your Air Hogs airplane tends to veer off into one direction, balance the wings by taping a dime to the bottom of the wing that is opposite the direction that the plane is turning. Strengthen the wing tips, rudder and other weak parts of your Air Hogs airplane by reinforcing the areas with duct tape. Wrap one layer of tape around the weak or broken areas to strengthen the plane's structure.

    Helicopter Tips

    • Place your helicopter on a level surface in an outdoor area with plenty of room. Test your helicopter before flying it by holding it firmly in one hand, enabling the radio controller, and running the rotor blades and rudders. If your helicopter inadvertently turns in one direction or does not stay balanced in the air, adjust the tail rotor first and the canopy blades second. Change the batteries on your remote control and your electric helicopter at least once every 48 hours of flight time to avoid any crashes due to lack of electrical power. Avoid flying your helicopter out of the remote control's range (typically 200 feet on most Air Hogs helicopter models) as this could result in crashes and loss of control.

    Car and Motorcycle Tips

    • Test the accelerator, brakes and turning abilities of your RC car or motorcycle before you drive it on the road. Hold the car or motorcycle firmly in the air and press the accelerator stick forward on your remote control. Allow the stick to return to it's original position and make sure the wheels stop quickly. Use a cotton swab to clean any dirt, dust or oil from the Air Hogs engine and steering mechanisms to improve control and performance. Cover any open holes in your car's or motorcycle's shell with duct tape to prevent dirt, dust and water from causing problems in your Air Hogs engine.
