Instructions
Line up the tabs in the windshield assembly with the slots in the top of the car body. Push the windshield straight down until it is flush with the body. Turn the car body over and push retaining clips onto the protruding windshield tabs by hand until they are fully seated.
Turn the car body right side up and push the steering wheel shaft though the hole in the dashboard and into the hole in the steering arm in the car's chassis. Turn the car body over and place a washer over the end of the shaft and secure it by pushing a cotter pin through the hole in the end of the shaft. Bend the end of the cotter pin over with a pair of pliers.
Turn the car body right side up and push the steering wheel onto the end of the steering shaft. Secure the wheel by tightening the set screw at the base of the wheel with a Philips screwdriver.
Slide the center hole in the wheels onto the axle shafts. Place a nylon washer over the axle shaft. Place a lock nut over the axle shaft and tighten it with an adjustable wrench. Do not over tighten the lock nut or the wheels will not turn freely. (Note: Some models may utilize a drive wheel which has a rectangular hole in the center, as opposed to a circular one. Match the drive wheel to the rectangular axle shaft and secure it with a washer and lock nut.)
Turn the car body upside down. Line up the holes in the axle assemblies with the mounting holes in the body. Secure the assemblies with the nuts and bolts provided and tighten with an adjustable wrench.
Attach the pedal assembly to the underside of the car body in the same fashion as the axle assemblies. Place the pedal rods into the mounting holes in the push rods, which are part of the rear axle assembly. Secure the pedal rods by placing a washer and cotter pin over the end of the rod. Bend over the end of the cotter pin with pliers to keep the pin and the rod from falling out.
Turn the car over. Line up the tabs in the hub caps with the slots in the center of the wheels. Lightly tap the hubcap into place with a rubber mallet. Do not hit the hub caps too hard or they may be damaged.
