How to Make an Easy Paper Boat

Fold a fleet of paper boats for a party centerpiece. Make them of shiny foil paper and tuck a flower in each one for an adult "bon voyage" party. For a children&'s nautical party, equip each boat with a tiny toy sailor. Sail the boats down the center of your table on a river of blue fabric or foil streamers.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the paper in half with the short sides together. Lay the paper on a table with the folded side closest to you.

    • 2

Fold up the corners on the folded side at an angle until the two sides of the bottom edge meet in the middle. Fold down the other edge of the paper along the line made by the folded-up corners. Turn the paper over and fold down the other side in the same way.

    • 3

Pick up the triangle you mad and open it up, pulling the sides out. The points on each side will come together and form a square. Lay the square down and flatten it. The opening should be pointing away from you.

    • 4

Fold down the point of the top layer of the square until it meets the bottom of the square. Turn the square over and repeat this fold.

    • 5

Pick up the paper with one of the folded down points in each hand. Pull these points away from each other. The sides of the boat will turn down making the boat shape. Turn the boat over and set it on the table.
