Instructions
Insert one edge of your washer into a vice. Tighten the vice until you are unable to budge the washer using your fingers.
Make a small notch in the washer edge using a hacksaw. The notch should be approximately 1/8-inch deep. Loosen the vice to release the washer.
Pull a hobby knife completely around the foam body to separate the helicopter halves. Start near the tail rotor, following the seam all the way around until you can pry apart the two pieces.
Pull out the rotor shaft and gear assembly from the foam body. Pinch the rotor shaft with a pair of locking pliers just above the large white gear.
Slide the new notched washer against the shaft just above the locking pliers. The shaft should rest at the base of your notch.
Insert the tip of a flathead screwdriver between the washer and locking pliers. Twist the tip to force the washer upward, thereby pressing upward on the main rotor. Continue twisting until the main rotor comes free from the shaft. Unlock the pliers.
