How to Install a Remote Control Helicopter Training Kit

Learning to operate a remote controlled helicopter takes time and practice. Installing a remote control helicopter training kit onto the skids of your RC helicopter can aid in the learning process. The training undercarriage provides a larger base beneath the helicopter, giving you room for under- and over-control during takeoff and landings. A $5 training kit could save you hundreds of dollars in repairs.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the four clips onto each of the skids. Place the rounded portion of the clip so that it lies atop the horizontal skid, with the curve wrapping around the bar. The curved point between the eyelets on the clips should wrap around the inside of the skid support, locking the clip into place.

    • 2

Slide the rods with the balls on the ends through the outermost eyelets of the clips. Pass the point through the eyelet, running diagonally towards the center of the helicopter body.

    • 3

Press the installed rod into the four-connector center plate piece. Position the center plate piece beneath the center of the helicopter body so that all four rods meet. The rods should make a slight clicking sound when pressed into the connector in the centerpiece, indicating that you have secured them in place. The four rods should make an "X" beneath the helicopter body with the helicopter raised onto the four balls placed on the rod ends.
