Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut out the body shell using the hobby knife if the body is made from flexible plastic. These bodies will normally be molded into clear plastic. Cut the extra plastic on the bottom of the mold with the knife until you free the body. Hard plastic bodies will already be molded and cut.
Turn the body upside down and place masking tape over all of the windows. The tape will prevent the windows from being painted over, thus giving the vehicle a more realistic appearance.
Paint the inside of the body using any color of spray paint. Spray the interior with two thick coats, allowing at least 24 hours for each coat to dry. Remove the masking tape once dry.
Paint any external parts that might have come with the body by dabbing a small amount of enamel paint on the paintbrush. Use a wet rag to wipe away any mistakes made during painting. The external parts, which might include mirrors, bumpers or lights, can be the same color as the body or a different shade. For a realistic look, paint the mirrors silver or black and the lights yellow or red. Allow the parts to dry for 24 hours.
Remove the thin plastic liner on the exterior of the body. This liner helps protect the exterior body from paint and dust while it is being worked on.
Assemble the parts to the body using hobby glue or screws. Dab a generous amount of glue onto the part and press it firmly to the body for 10 seconds. Allow to dry overnight.
Apply custom stickers to the body. Stickers might come with the body or can be purchased separately at a hobby store. Cut out the stickers carefully using the hobby knife and peel them off of the wax template.
