How to Remove Hair From an RC Car Wheel

Racing RC cars around the house can be lots of fun, but a piece of hair entangled in the wheel can quickly put an end to the car's smooth rolling motion. Removing hair from an RC car wheel isn't as easy as it might seem because the strands can become tangled in the spokes of the wheel so tightly that you can't get a grip on them. While using RC cars in hair-free areas is best, it is possible to remove strands of hair from the wheels.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the car upside-down on a flat surface, such as a desk or a hardwood floor.

    • 2

Locate the wheel with the hair; try to see where the hair is pulled through the sections of the wheel.

    • 3

Work the head of a bobby pin under the hair at the points where it is close to the wheel, pulling up slowly so that the hair moves away from the wheel.

    • 4

Slide the bobby pin all the way into one of the loops you've created, and wiggle it very carefully, being sure not to break the hair strands. This will cause the hair to separate more fully from the wheel.

    • 5

Use your fingers to grip the hair at its largest mass, and very slowly pull it away from the wheel.

    • 6

Use scissors to cut the remaining hair, and slowly pull out each piece you've cut with your fingers.

    • 7

Use tweezers to remove any remaining hair; tweezers fit well into the small spaces behind the wheel. The wheels should now be hair free.
