How to Build Your Own RC Engine Test Stand

If you have ever worked on an RC (remote controlled) vehicle before, then you know how necessary it is to lift the wheels up off the ground. There are plenty of RC stands sold at hobby stores, but they aren't always the most affordable option. If you're looking for an inexpensive, yet durable, RC engine test stand, simply follow these instructions, and built one!

Things You'll Need

  • 2 2-inch-by-4-inch planks at 1.5 feet in length
  • 2 4-inch-by-4-inch blocks at 3 inches in length
  • Box of flat-headed 3-inch wood screws
  • Electric screwdriver
  • Two thick rubberbands
  • Staple Gun

Instructions

    • 1

Lie the 2-inch-by-4-inch on it's long side, line up one of the blocks directly centered between both ends, and screw the two pieces together. Repeat this process for both of the 2-inch-by-4-inch planks.

    • 2

Face the two blocks toward the outside, and then connect the two 2-inch-by-4-inch planks with several screws.

    • 3

Place your vehicle on the device, and notice where the front and rear bumper sit. Staple one end of the heavy duty rubber bands so that it pulls tightly on the front end of the car. Orient the second band to do the same to the rear bumper. They should be tight enough to firmly hold the car in place, while offering enough slack to release the car from their grip.
