How to Fill Fuel in an RC Plane

Radio-controlled (R/C) planes have long held the imagination of even the most land-locked person. An R/C plane that uses fuel instead of a battery can fly farther, higher and with more power. The negative side of using fuel is that it is easy to spill the liquid while trying to fill the R/C plane's fuel tank. By using a fuel dot purchased from a hobby store or where you got your R/C plane, refueling not only becomes easier but safer. Installing a fuel dot will let you fill the R/C plane's fuel tank efficiently so you can get back to flying.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Push the blade of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver into the stopper hole of the fuel tank plug that hasn't been punched through. Remove the metal plug that has been punched out. Discard the metal plug.

    • 2

Cut a piece of copper tubing 2 inches long with the scissors. Push one end of the copper tubing through the hole that has been punched out and into the fuel tank. Bend the copper tubing so the end going into the fuel tank gets angled downwards into the tank.

    • 3

Attach the end of the copper tubing to the fuel dot's valve. Push the fuel dot onto the stopper hole of the fuel tank and open it up.

    • 4

Pour in the fuel into the fuel tank. Close the fuel dot. The R/C plane is now fueled up for flying.
