Kick the tires. Commit to regular maintenance. A pedal car is both a toy and a vehicle. Be prepared to give the car a regular tune-up to be sure the pedals, wheels and steering wheel are secure. Break-downs in the middle of play can be disappointing for the kids and potentially hazardous.

Supervise play. If you're going to buy your kids a pedal car, understand that adult supervision is required.
