Things You'll Need
Instructions
Select an area that has no traffic and is big enough to give your monster truck room to really move. A basketball court, driveway, open field or parking lots are all ideal tracks.
Decide on the surface you want for your racetrack. You can use chalk, spray paint, tape, 2 by 4s, flexible hosing or any other material that will give you a guide for your truck to follow.
Assemble all your supplies and make your course a challenge. Bring dirt, rocks, matchbox cars, sticks and water with you to your track site.
Determine where you want your mud pit, your stick pit, hills and rock obstacles. Do this after you have outlined your course.
Give your track wide curves-you will want to race with more than one competitor, and the wider the curves the more trucks that can participate.
Collect material as you see it-flexible pipe and 2 by 4s are better to keep trucks inside track boundaries.
Make sure you clean up the track area after you are finished with your race day. Always ask permission from the landowner before you build a track.
